Luis de la Fuente extends Spain national team contract until 2032

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has officially extended the contract of national team manager Luis de la Fuente until 2032. The decision, approved unanimously by the RFEF Board of Directors, follows a highly successful period for the Spanish national team, including winning the 2023 UEFA Nations League, the 2024 European Championship, and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The long-term agreement is designed to provide stability for upcoming major international tournaments. De la Fuente is set to lead the team through the 2028 and 2032 European Championships, as well as the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Spain will co-host with Portugal, Morocco, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina.

RFEF President Rafael Louzán described the move as a “project of stability and trust,” noting that De la Fuente is the most decorated coach in the history of the national team. The extension marks the first time the federation has committed to a head coach for such an extended duration.
