German municipalities host Long Night of Democracy events

Various German municipalities are participating in the ‘Lange Nacht der Demokratie’ (Long Night of Democracy) to promote democratic values, history, and social cohesion.

In Neunkirchen, the Volkshochschule (VHS) is hosting events including a lecture on European cities of democracy featuring Vienna, Paris, Berlin, and London. Additionally, an anti-fascist historical city tour will take place to examine the city's history regarding National Socialism and resistance.

Schwandorf is participating in the event for the first time as one of 52 Bavarian municipalities. The program includes a lecture on the 80th anniversary of the Bavarian Constitution by former state parliament member Franz Schindler, alongside various community activities, discussions, and cultural events organized by the local culture office, library, and VHS.
