German outdoor pools host seasonal dog swimming events

Several German cities are hosting traditional dog swimming events at local outdoor pools as the regular swimming season concludes.

In Braunschweig, the Raffteich outdoor pool will host the event this Sunday. The Stadtbad GmbH has announced that the fenced area will allow dogs to play and swim, including access to a specialized puppy pool. The event features a variety of land-based activities such as dog photography, first aid training, and physiotherapy. For the first time, sprint competitions will be held at 11:00 and 14:00, with prizes valued at over 1,000 euros.

Similarly, the outdoor pool in Waltrop is opening its waters exclusively to dogs this Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00. While human swimming season has ended, the facility is hosting this event before final seasonal maintenance begins. Participants must provide proof of vaccination and insurance, with an entry fee of three euros per dog.
