German police arrest four suspects in 25,000-liter diesel theft

Four suspects are in custody following a series of organized diesel thefts across three German federal states. Investigators believe the group stole more than 25,000 liters of fuel by targeting gas stations in Saarland, Hessen, and Baden-Württemberg.

According to the Saarland State Police Directorate, the group used rented vans and specialized pumps to manipulate fueling equipment and siphon diesel into transport containers. The thefts took place in locations including Saarwellingen, Heppenheim, and Waghäusel-Wiesental.

On October 5, police near Karlsruhe arrested three men, aged 36 and 44. A 34-year-old woman from the Saarbrücken area was also detained on suspicion of managing the logistics for the operation. During subsequent searches, authorities recovered approximately 14,000 liters of the stolen diesel. An investigating judge has issued arrest warrants for all four individuals on suspicion of serious gang theft.
