Organized diesel theft in Germany

Overview

German authorities have arrested four suspects in connection with an organized diesel theft operation spanning Saarland, Hessen, and Baden-Württemberg. Investigators believe the group siphoned more than 25,000 liters of fuel from gas stations using rented vans and specialized pumps.

On October 5, police near Karlsruhe detained three men, aged 36 and 44, while a 34-year-old woman from the Saarbrücken area was arrested for allegedly managing the operation’s logistics. During searches, officials recovered approximately 14,000 liters of stolen diesel. An investigating judge has issued arrest warrants for all four individuals on suspicion of “serious gang theft”.
