German police intervene in multiple Schreckschusswaffe incidents

On 16 July, Cologne police arrested a 43‑year‑old cyclist who fired a blank‑firing pistol, injuring two officers lightly before being detained.

Later that evening in Nürnberg’s Altstadt, a 23‑year‑old man discharged a similar weapon at officers; three police trainees suffered minor injuries before he was subdued. The suspect also possessed a knife and other items and faces charges for dangerous assault and weapons‑law violations.

In Wolfratshausen, a man fired a blank‑firing pistol from his apartment after a dispute with teenagers on a supermarket roof. Police seized the weapon and additional knives and batons, detained the suspect and reported no injuries.
