German police investigate missing person and body disposal cases
Authorities in Germany are investigating two separate criminal cases involving missing persons and deceased individuals.
In Frankenberg, prosecutors in Marburg have filed charges against a man for attempted murder and dangerous bodily harm. The suspect is currently in custody and is accused of attacking his father with an object. The motive is believed to be the belief that the father was withholding information regarding the whereabouts of his wife, Margarete K., who has been missing since May 2025. Despite extensive search efforts involving over 150 hunters, firefighters, and police, the 74-year-old woman has not been found.
In a separate investigation in Upper Bavaria, police are looking into the death of a 64-year-old Romanian man whose body was discovered near the Sylvenstein reservoir. A 59-year-old woman is suspected of transporting the body approximately 100 kilometers from a workplace in the Ebersberg district to the discovery site. While the man is believed to have died of medical causes, investigators are looking into potential charges of failure to render assistance. Police are collaborating with Romanian authorities to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death and the reason for the body's transport.
