German police seize drugs and enforce residency bans in Kiel and Bremen

In the north‑German city of Kiel, authorities imposed a broad residency ban covering most of the Gaarden district after a large‑scale raid on drug‑related premises in February 2026. The ban, based on police observations, was challenged in the Schleswig administrative court, which reviewed the legal basis under § 201 Abs. 2 LVwG and considered whether the evidence justified restricting movement for the suspect alleged to lead a cocaine, heroin and cannabis trafficking group.

Separately in Bremen, police concluded a weeks‑long undercover operation that resulted in the seizure of roughly one kilogram of heroin, 40 g of pure cocaine, 170 g of crack, over €100 000 in cash and additional drug‑cutting agents. Two men, aged 23 and 37, were arrested after large quantities of heroin and crack were found in their possession, and the operation disrupted the distribution network linked to hidden “bunker” apartments in the Neustadt area.
