German rail officials urged to speed up projects and heed passenger concerns

The Green Party’s Saxony parliamentary group demanded faster implementation of twelve federally mandated rail projects in the state, warning that prolonged planning loops are inflating costs and jeopardising structural‑change initiatives in former coal regions. Party leader Franziska Schubert called on the federal government to prioritize these projects and avoid further delays.

In the Frankfurt/Rhine‑Main area, passenger association Pro Bahn urged that rail‑user groups be involved early in the planning of major construction works, such as the extensive renovation of the right‑bank Rhine line and upgrades at the Fulda junction. The group highlighted the need for better coordination, clear information and reliable replacement services to minimise disruption for travelers.
