German Regional Awards Open 2026 Nominations for Sports Volunteers and Family‑Friendliness

The Landessportverband Saarland (LSVS) announced that nominations for its 2026 Ehrenamtspreis – a volunteer‑service award in sport – are accepted until 21 June 2026. The prize will be presented on 26 November 2026 and includes eight categories such as lifetime achievement, youth and adult engagement, inclusion, integration, sustainability, project work and a jury innovation award.

Leipzig’s municipal authorities launched a Familienfreundlichkeit prize for 2026, inviting proposals and jury members. The award, backed by the Leipzig Group, AOK plus, BMW Group Werk Leipzig, Leipzig Messe and Sparkasse Leipzig, will be given in September 2026 with a public‑vote component. It recognises innovative, sustainable initiatives that support families, and seeks jury members aged 10‑99 to ensure diverse representation.
