During the event, Mayor Niklas Gehnich noted that many volunteer leadership roles now require time commitments comparable to a second job. Meanwhile, Amberg is observing its 22nd Week of Civic Engagement, marking the 15th anniversary of its local volunteer agency, ‘Engagiert in Amberg’, which has connected approximately 1,500 citizens to service opportunities since 2011.

Youth engagement and educational support remain priorities, with ongoing programs such as Bundeswettbewerb Jugend musiziert and various FSJ and BFD vacancies in kindergartens across several states.
