Germany experiences warm July days with scattered showers and strong coastal winds

The German Weather Service (DWD) forecasts that much of Germany will see mild to warm temperatures on July 21‑22, 2026, with daytime highs ranging from about 18 °C in the north to up to 26 °C in the southeast and alpine regions. Sunlight will dominate early in the day, especially in Berlin, Brandenburg, Bavaria and Baden‑Württemberg, but afternoon showers and occasional thunderstorms are expected across many states, including Schleswig‑Holstein, Hamburg, and the Harz.

Coastal areas along the North Sea and Baltic will face gusty winds, with the DWD issuing a yellow warning for strong winds in parts of Poland’s coast and reporting expected gusts of up to 70‑80 km/h in German coastal zones such as Schleswig‑Holstein, the North Sea islands and Helgoland. Rainfall probabilities remain low overall, generally under 30 %, but isolated heavy rain of up to 15 l/m² per hour may occur with thunderstorms.

Temperatures will dip at night to the low single digits in the mountains and to around 9‑12 °C in the lowlands. Overall, the weather will be typical for midsummer, with a mix of sunshine, cloud cover, occasional showers and lively breezes.
