German road closures disrupt traffic in Taucha and on A31 Emstunnel

In the town of Taucha, the Dewitter Straße between Käthe‑Kollwitz‑Weg and Geschwister‑Scholl‑Straße has been fully closed to all traffic. The blockage, imposed for safety while a new high‑voltage power line is installed by the contractor Kusch & Walter, began on 8 June and has been extended at least until Friday. Drivers are detoured via Eilenburger Straße and Am Dingstuhl, while public transport on the LVB line may still use the road.

Separately, the Emstunnel on the A31 near Leer, a key route to the North Sea, will be closed in both directions on several nights from 9 June to 12 June between 20:00 and 06:00. The Autobahn GmbH is carrying out a technical inspection of tunnel systems, including lighting, ventilation and fire‑safety equipment. Traffic is redirected onto marked detour routes using the U‑road network.

Both closures affect motorists in their respective regions and require adherence to temporary detour signs.
