German Schools Set New Cycling Milestones in STADTRADELN Events

In Regensburg, the Albrecht‑Altdorfer‑Gymnasium (AAG) logged 20,835 kilometres in the STADTRADELN school cycling competition, placing sixth among 314 organisations and becoming the city’s top‑scoring school. One class, 1m3, won the SCHULRADELN sub‑contest with over 3,000 kilometres, earning a €300 prize for its class fund. A total of 107 pupils competed in 42 team sub‑units.

In Munich, 22,186 participants covered 4,654,563 kilometres over three weeks, marking a 12.37 % increase from the previous year. The city recorded 937 teams, including 136 schools that joined the school‑cycling component. Mayor Verena Dietl and mobility referent Georg Dunkel publicly honoured the most active teams and individuals, highlighting the event’s growing integration into everyday mobility and its contribution to sustainable transport and climate protection.
