German television networks announce programming updates and special broadcasts

German television networks are implementing various programming changes and special broadcasts. ZDF reported high viewership for its crime and true-crime formats, specifically noting that ‘Aktenzeichen XY… International’ achieved an 18.2 percent market share, outperforming ‘Wer wird Millionär?’ during its time slot.

In response to the third anniversary of the October 7 attacks, the news channel WELT is adjusting its schedule to include live reporting and documentaries, such as the new series ‘Inside Israel mit Jan Philipp Burgard’. The programming will feature interviews with Israeli Ambassador Ron Prosor and coverage of memorial events.

Other networks are updating their crime series lineups. Sat. 1 Gold will begin broadcasting the 13th season of the British series ‘Vera’ on October 24, 2026. Kabel Eins is launching the third season of ‘Deutschlands spektakulärste Kriminalfälle’ on October 30, featuring the Christina Block case, and will also replace ‘Bull’ with the series ‘Monk’ in its afternoon programming starting October 28.
