German towns celebrate 2026 Stadtradeln cycling events

In Neutraubling, Mayor Harald Stadler opened the 2026 STADTRADELN campaign on a sunny day, urging participants to leave their cars behind and ride bicycles for health and traffic relief. The route started at the market square, passing local landmarks before returning for a snack break. Registrations remain open until 9 July, with a prize ceremony slated for 26 July at the town’s Bürgerfest.

In Haren (Ems), the STADTRADELN finale was held on 26 June at the Mersmühle despite 35 °C heat. Twelve clubs logged a combined 60 500 km, up from 45 000 km the previous year. The club “Die Alten Läufer vom TUS” won first place, earning €300 for its association, followed by “TuS Haren Alte Herren” (€200) and the Heimatverein Altenberge (€100). The event featured a prize draw and a convivial gathering of cyclists and officials.
