German towns honor volunteers and municipal employees

In Barsinghausen, Mayor Henning Schünhof awarded the Lower Saxony Volunteer Card to four local volunteers – Bastian Zimmermann (fire brigade), Tjark Kielgast and Laura Jansen (Arbeiter‑Samariter‑Bund), and Fabian Reinert (DC Dartskulls Basche). The card acknowledges their personal commitment to public welfare and provides discounts in Lower Saxony and Bremen.

In Erbendorf, Mayor Bernhard Schmidt recognized three municipal employees for long service and professional development. Bernhard Fütterer celebrated a 40‑year career in the city’s public works department. Markus Gallersdörfer earned a water‑master qualification after completing extensive training in water‑supply technology. Markus Knodt completed the third qualification level (QE 3) and continues as the city’s finance expert. Both ceremonies highlighted the importance of dedication and skill in sustaining local services.
