German trainees visit Dutch windmill and college in cross‑border education exchange
On 14 May 2026, members of the Britzer Mühlenfreunde from Berlin spent two hours at Windmühle Paula on the Steinhuder Meer. They toured the historic windmill, examined technical features such as the brake lift and discussed wind‑obstruction problems similar to those at their own Britzer Mühle. The mill is currently out of service due to damage to the wing‑gear wedge, which is slated for repair before the upcoming mill festival.
On 18 March 2026, classes GHM and KBM of the second year of Kaufmännische Schulen Tecklenburger Land in Ibbenbüren visited Deltion College in Zwolle, the Netherlands. The visit, part of the “Unterricht ohne Grenzen – Deutschland und Nederland entdecken den Unterricht neu” project funded by the Interreg Germany‑Netherlands programme and co‑financed by the EU, allowed the students to explore the Dutch vocational‑school system, see the modern campus facilities and strengthen intercultural competencies.
