German cross‑border educational trips

In early 2026 German trainee groups participated in cross‑border exchanges with the Netherlands. In March, students from Kaufmännische Schulen Tecklenburger Land visited Deltion College in Zwolle, while in May members of the Britzer Mühlenfreunde toured the historic Windmühle Paula on the Steinhuder Meer, discussing technical issues relevant to their own mill. Both visits were part of the Interreg Germany‑Netherlands programme aimed at fostering intercultural competencies.

By late July, the scope of German school travel broadened. A first‑grade class spent a week in Brussels attending university lectures, museum tours and a day trip to Ghent, while another class from Schrozberg sailed to the Netherlands, stopping in Enkhuizen, Amsterdam and Hoorn for sailing practice and cultural sightseeing. The continued series of trips illustrates an expanding pattern of German educational institutions using short‑term overseas visits to enrich curricula and strengthen ties with neighboring European countries.
