German training programs launch for paramedics and student mental health
In Germany, new cohorts of trainees have begun specialized programs in emergency medical services and mental health resilience.
The German Red Cross (DRK) has commenced a three-year paramedic training program for 42 young people. Of these, 25 are training at the rescue service school in Gelnhausen and 17 in Fulda. The curriculum combines theoretical instruction with practical exercises and clinical rotations to prepare students for high-pressure medical decision-making and emergency response.
Separately, Dalberg-Gymnasium in Aschaffenburg held two project days focused on life skills for eighth-grade students. The sessions aimed to provide practical strategies for managing academic pressure and psychological stress. Topics included the concept of a ‘growth mindset’ to encourage perseverance and the study of physical and emotional stress responses to help students interpret bodily signals as functional energy rather than paralyzing burdens.
