German turbine maker Nordex secures 325 MW US wind order

Hamburg-based wind turbine manufacturer Nordex announced it has received a US order for 325 megawatts of capacity, covering 55 N163/5 turbines. The customer and project name were not disclosed. The contract boosts Nordex’s order book, which already reached roughly 1.6 GW since early April, compared with about 1.87 GW in the first quarter.

Following the announcement, Nordex shares rose about 0.6 % in early trading after previously slipping, having more than halved in value since the start of the year. Nordex’s strongest markets remain Germany, Sweden and Turkey, while the US market faces policy uncertainty under the Trump administration despite growing electricity demand from data centres. The company has also invested in expanding production capacity in the United States.
