German Volkshochschulen Open Autumn Semester with Hundreds of Courses

The Volkshochschule Marburg begins its new autumn and winter semester on 31 August 2026, presenting almost 500 courses, workshops and lectures covering society, culture, health and languages. Director Cordula Schlichte highlighted new language offerings such as French‑song classes and language‑learning holidays, as well as projects like “Marburger Geschichte schreiben” and “Castle College”. New art courses include comic‑figure drawing, cubist painting with AI, Ukrainian embroidery and a hand‑pan workshop.

The Volkshochschule Waldeck‑Frankenberg opens enrollment on 10 August 2026 for its 2025/26 autumn‑winter programme, featuring 405 courses of which 88 are online. Director Manuel Wolf noted courses aimed at different ages, including “Lernen lernen” for school‑age students and “Abenteuer Ruhestand” for retirees. The curriculum spans literature, theatre, dance, painting, pedagogy, psychology, religion, philosophy, history, computer skills, languages, movement, and nutrition.
