Germany expands educational programme offerings 2026

In July 2026 the Zentrum für Fernstudien im Hochschulverbund (zfh) in Koblenz announced a broad expansion of its flexible, distance‑learning portfolio for the winter semester 2026/27. More than 100 accredited bachelor, master and certificate programmes across technical, natural, social and economic sciences were added, including new master tracks in Digital Finance, Strategy & Accounting, Electrical Engineering, Marketing‑Management, Motorsport‑Management, Corporate Management, an MBA with six specialisations, and a Master of Computer Science for career changers. The centre, which collaborates with 21 state universities, reported over 5 800 enrolled students and kept online applications open until 31 July 2026.

A few weeks later, in early August, Germany’s Volkshochschulen (adult‑education centres) opened enrollment for their autumn‑winter semester. The Volkshochschule Marburg listed nearly 500 courses ranging from language classes and cultural workshops to AI‑assisted art and Ukrainian embroidery, while the Volkshochschule Waldeck‑Frankenberg offered 405 courses, 88 of them online, targeting learners of all ages—from school‑age “Lernen lernen” to retirement‑focused “Abenteuer Ruhestand”. Both institutions highlighted new language and digital‑skill offerings, underscoring a nationwide push to broaden accessible education for university students and adult learners alike.
