German Wood Construction Projects: Student Visit, Historic Bridge Relocation, and New Bridge Replacement

Wood technology students visited JURA‑Holzbau GmbH in Germany, where they observed modern timber house production and learned about sustainable building methods.

In Neuhaus am Inn, the 1853 wooden Rott bridge was lifted, refurbished in a field workshop, and re‑installed downstream as a pedestrian and cycle bridge while a new concrete bridge takes over vehicular traffic.

The unsafe wooden Tränkgassen bridge in Monsheim is set for demolition and replacement with a weather‑resistant aluminium‑steel structure, funded by the Regional Future Programme, with installation planned for autumn.
