Germany and Switzerland impose night closures for major highway expansion works

In Pforzheim, Germany, the A8 expansion includes constructing a protective tunnel over the B10 to keep the federal road open during the project. A one‑night full closure of the B10 is scheduled for June 26‑27, 2024, from 22:00 to 05:00, with detours via Enzberger Straße, Eutinger Straße and the main road.

In Wangen a. A., Switzerland, high temperatures have forced the concrete work on the A1 six‑lane upgrade to be moved to early‑morning shifts (04:00‑10:00) from June 26 to July 3, 2026. Additional nocturnal traffic re‑routing is planned for early July and mid‑August 2026, with night works lasting from 20:00 to 05:00. Both projects warn of temporary noise and light emissions and note that weather‑related schedule changes may occur.
