Germany broadcasting fee reductions for people with disabilities
In Germany, individuals with certain disabilities may be eligible for a reduction in the public broadcasting fee (Rundfunkbeitrag). While the standard monthly fee is 18.36 Euro, eligible persons can pay a reduced rate of 6.12 Euro per month.
To qualify for this reduction, a recognized degree of disability (GdB) alone is insufficient. Applicants must possess specific markings on their disability ID, such as the 'RF' mark. This applies to individuals with a GdB of at least 80 who cannot permanently participate in public events, as well as blind or visually impaired individuals with a GdB of at least 60 and the 'RF' designation.
