Armenian opposition figure David Ghazinyan has filed an administrative lawsuit against the Central Election Commission (CEC) seeking to void the CEC’s decisions of 17 June 2026. The contested decisions approved judicial mediation that led to criminal prosecution and deprivation of liberty for Ghazinyan and two other candidates linked to the “Armenia” and “Strong Armenia” electoral alliance.

The Administrative Court, chaired by Judge Lilith Sadoyan, accepted the claim and ordered the CEC to provide the full administrative record and the audio recording of the CEC’s extraordinary session on that date. The court has scheduled a hearing for 22 June 2026 and has involved the Prosecutor General’s Office as a third party because the resulting judicial act will directly affect it. Ghazinyan denies allegations of offering a 1.4 million‑dram “electoral cash” and has called the accusations unfounded.
