Germany deports 23 Afghan nationals to Kabul

Germany has deported 23 Afghan nationals to Kabul via a charter flight departing from Leipzig/Halle Airport. The German Ministry of the Interior stated that the majority of the group consists of individuals convicted of serious crimes, including sexual offenses and physical assault.

Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt emphasized that the government is consistently implementing policies to ensure that those without legal residency leave the country, noting that society has a clear interest in removing criminals. While Germany does not formally recognize the Taliban government, it has engaged in negotiations regarding these deportations.

This action follows a shift in migration policy. While previous deportations to Afghanistan primarily targeted criminals or those deemed threats, recent directives indicate that other individuals ordered to leave the country will also face immediate deportation.
