Germany expands childcare infrastructure and digital services

Municipalities in Germany are implementing new measures to improve childcare accessibility and communication. In Singen Radolfzell, all ten municipal daycare centers have adopted the ‘Easychild’ app to streamline administrative tasks. The software allows parents to report absences, order meals, and receive updates via push notifications. A key feature is the automatic translation of messages into twelve languages, including English, Arabic, and Ukrainian, to support integrated families.

In Ludwigshafen, construction is underway for a new daycare facility on Freinsheimer Straße, scheduled to open for the 2027/28 school year. The facility will accommodate approximately 90 children across four groups. This project is part of a broader effort to address a shortage of roughly 900 childcare places in the city. Ludwigshafen plans to create an additional 1,308 places through the construction of wooden modular daycare buildings in the coming years to meet rising demand.
