Germany experiences two major residential fires, dozens rescued

Two separate residential fire incidents occurred in western Germany. In Remscheid, a blaze erupted in a first‑floor apartment on the night of 22:17, prompting a large response from around 70 fire‑fighters, rescue units from Wuppertal and medical teams. Four residents were rescued, one suffered severe injuries and was air‑lifted to a specialist clinic, while two others were taken to nearby hospitals.

In Dillingen, a later daytime fire broke out in a multi‑family building, producing meter‑high flames from a window. Firefighters forced open a locked entry door and used a ladder to contain the blaze. No occupants were found inside, and the fire was extinguished without injuries after extensive foam treatment. About 20 firefighters and five vehicles responded, and police are investigating the cause of both fires.
