Germany hospital fire kills at least two, injures dozens

A large fire erupted in the roof of a hospital in Lüneburg, Mecklenburg‑Vorpommern, northern Germany, on the morning of 2 July 2026. The blaze is believed to have started in a patient’s room and quickly spread, causing the roof to collapse.
