Germany hosts major summits on AI regulation and digital forensics

Germany is hosting significant professional gatherings focused on the advancement and regulation of artificial intelligence. In Hann. Münden, the 11th Police Informatics Symposium took place at the Lower Saxony Police Academy. The event brought together approximately 90 experts from law enforcement, academia, and cybersecurity to discuss the impact of AI on police work, specifically regarding digital forensics, cybercrime, and the detection of deepfakes.

Simultaneously, the IJCAI-ECAI 2026 AI World Congress is being held in Bremen, marking the first time the conference has returned to Germany in 43 years. Key discussions at the congress include the implementation of the EU AI Act and the development of ‘Safe AI Agents’ for use in public services. The event emphasizes the transition of AI from laboratory research to practical, secure application within government processes and public administration.
