Germany plans new North Sea military port

The German federal government is planning to construct a new military port along the North Sea coast. While the Federal Ministry of Defence has confirmed it is examining “new maritime location options,” the specific site remains a subject of debate.

Reports suggest that Emden may be the preferred location, potentially overtaking Bremerhaven for the project. Although the Ministry of Defence has been vague regarding Bremerhaven's chances, it confirmed that decision-making processes are well advanced. This comes amid broader investments by the federal government and the state of Bremen, totaling 1.35 billion euros, aimed at expanding military infrastructure.
