Germany postpones Bergstedter Chaussee start and closes Staatsstraße 2121
The renovation of the Bergstedter Chaussee, the arterial road linking Hamburg and Schleswig‑Holstein, will not begin before 20 July. Planning revisions, additional permits and redesign of traffic measures delayed the start. The road will be closed in sections with a full shutdown, but without barrier gates; traffic will be rerouted onto surrounding streets and heavy‑goods vehicles will be diverted. Safety installations such as temporary traffic lights, parking bans and curb protections are being arranged.
In Bavaria, the state road 2121 between Krummennaab and Friedenfels will be closed for two weeks starting 6 July for construction work carried out in two phases. Detours are provided via the B 299 and several other state roads. The works include reinforcement of road margins, with a cost of roughly €300,000 funded by the Free State of Bavaria.
