Germany proposes increased grid fees for solar prosumers
The German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) has released a draft proposal regarding increased grid fees for prosumers starting in 2029. While some reports suggest a potential 90 percent increase, this figure applies specifically to the fixed base price component of electricity bills rather than the total cost.
Experts estimate the actual financial impact for households with solar installations will be relatively modest, likely under 100 euros annually, though some industry estimates suggest it could reach up to 155 euros. The measure aims to address existing gaps in how grid costs are distributed. Notably, small-scale balcony power plants are explicitly excluded from these planned increases.
