Germany PV subsidies: 0% VAT rate and new feed-in tariffs for 2026

Photovoltaic (PV) system operators in Germany will continue to benefit from a zero percent VAT rate for systems with an installed capacity of up to 30 kilowatt-peak (kWp) in 2026. This measure is intended to reduce administrative burdens for private households and small businesses while encouraging decentralized energy production.

For systems commissioned between August 1, 2026, and January 31, 2027, new feed-in tariff rates will apply. Partial feed-in will be compensated at 7.70 ct/kWh, while full feed-in will receive 12.22 ct/kWh. These rates are subject to a semi-annual degression of 1 percent, making the timing of system commissioning a critical factor for long-term investment planning and returns.
