Germany raises Minijob earnings limit to 633 euros
Germany is increasing the monthly earnings limit for ‘Minijobs’ (marginal employment) from 603 euros to 633 euros. This adjustment is tied to the rise in the statutory minimum wage, which is increasing from 13.90 euros to 14.60 euros per hour.
For workers earning the minimum wage, the maximum number of monthly hours remains unchanged at approximately 43.4 hours to stay within the new limit. However, employees with higher hourly rates may be able to work slightly more hours to reach the new 633-euro threshold. Under this arrangement, the full amount remains net for the employee due to flat-rate taxation through the employer and exemption from pension insurance obligations.
