Germany strengthens energy partnerships in Indonesia

German Development Minister Reem Alabali Radovan has traveled to Indonesia with a business delegation to strengthen partnerships in the energy sector. Indonesia is designated as one of Germany’s new focus countries for development policy, aiming to integrate German economic interests with sustainable development goals.

A primary objective of the visit is to support Indonesia’s energy transition through investments in renewable energy and modern power grids. This cooperation is part of an international partnership for a just energy transition, which aims to mobilize approximately 20 billion US dollars in conjunction with partners such as Japan.

During the trip, the Minister co-opened the ‘Indonesia Sustainable Energy Week’ (ISEW) alongside the Indonesian Planning Minister. The delegation is also scheduled to visit Indonesian sites operated by German companies, including Bayer and Siemens, and hold discussions with Indonesian ministers of planning, economy, and energy to facilitate market access for German technology providers.
