Germany-Indonesia energy and development cooperation

German Development Minister Reem Alabali Radovan led a business delegation to Indonesia to strengthen energy sector partnerships. Indonesia has been designated as a new focus country for German development policy, aiming to align economic interests with sustainable development goals.

In addition to economic discussions, the visit included a focus on interfaith dialogue. Radovan visited the Istiqlal Mosque and Jakarta Cathedral to highlight religious harmony and interfaith tolerance. She specifically noted the mosque’s use of solar energy as a practical example of the clean energy transition.
