Germany wins U16 Women's Handball World Championship

The German U16 women's national handball team has secured the World Championship title in Morocco, defeating Hungary with a final score of 37:32. This victory marks the first time a World Championship title has been awarded in this specific age category.

Germany maintained a lead throughout the second half, bolstered by strong defensive play and a 71% shooting accuracy at halftime. Romy Sieber was named player of the match after scoring eight goals, while Nika Lemke, Taya Nagel, and Janne Uthmann each contributed five goals.

Three German players were selected for the tournament's All-Star Team: goalkeeper Mercy Hacker, right winger Nora Lueg, and back player Taya Nagel. This win follows recent successes for German handball, including the men's U18 European Championship gold and the U20 women's World Championship title.
