Women's U-16 Handball World Championship in Morocco

The inaugural Women's U-16 Handball World Championship has concluded in Agadir, Morocco. The tournament was designed to provide young athletes with international experience to bridge the gap between youth levels and the U-18 and U-20 championships.

Germany secured the championship title by defeating Hungary with a final score of 37:32. Germany maintained a lead throughout the second half, supported by a 71% shooting accuracy at halftime. Romy Sieber was named player of the match after scoring eight goals, while Nika Lemke, Taya Nagel, and Janne Uthmann each contributed five goals. Three German players—goalkeeper Mercy Hacker, right winger Nora Lueg, and back player Taya Nagel—were selected for the tournament's All-Star Team.

Earlier in the competition, Germany opened with a 53:12 victory over Mexico, led by coach Gino Smits and player Nika Lemke. In contrast, the United States team suffered a heavy 10:61 defeat against China. Among the American players is Amelina Schulz, the 16-year-old daughter of former German heavyweight boxer Axel Schulz, who recorded one goal and one assist during the match.
