Schleswig-Holstein Harvest Advances with Regional Yield Variations

Farmers in Schleswig-Holstein have progressed with the 2026 harvest, completing winter barley and moving into rapeseed, peas and winter wheat. Early results show strong yields in the northern districts, while the southeast experienced lower outputs due to limited rainfall, high temperatures and storm damage observed in mid‑July.

Pest pressure from the pea leafhopper (Kohlschotenmücke) has been reported on rapeseed, causing localized losses. Grain market prices have risen, with barley around €175 per tonne and wheat about €210 per tonne, reflecting higher producer earnings.

Overall, the agricultural outlook remains mixed: favourable conditions and good grassland harvests in much of the state contrast with weather‑related constraints and pest challenges in specific areas.
