Germany's STADTRADELN Campaign 2026 Promotes Cycling and Inclusion

From 22 June 2026, the Landkreis Haßberge launches a three‑week STADTRADELN competition encouraging residents to leave their cars at home and cycle for health and climate benefits. Participants can join or form teams, and a school‑wide race offers €2,500 in prize money, supported by local sponsors.

In Bamberg, the same national STADTRADELN drive runs from 15 June to 5 July 2026 across 21 days. Mayor Sebastian M. Niedermaier has pledged a free rickshaw ride for people with mobility limitations on every event day, inviting volunteers to provide transportation and counting each rickshaw kilometre toward the cycling tally.
