Gerontological and palliative care initiatives reported in Argentina and Dominican Republic

In Argentina, the CERENA Day Center and the Ceferina Geriatric Residence held a joint recreational event to celebrate spring and foster social connections among elderly participants. As part of these activities, participants have begun creating a collective mural to promote creativity and community engagement. Additionally, CERENA is preparing for World Alzheimer's Day on September 21 with a campaign titled ‘No olvides recordar’ (Do not forget to remember) to raise awareness about the condition.

In the Dominican Republic, the Centro Médico Docente Siglo 21 and Hospidolor hosted a medical symposium focused on the challenges of palliative care. The discussion, held as part of the medical center's 29th anniversary, addressed critical topics such as ‘Palliative sedation, not euthanasia’ and the viability of interventionism in palliative patients. The event aimed to promote more humanized and integral patient care through professional dialogue and academic exchange.
