Ghana and UK explore partnerships in agriculture and sports
Ghana and the United Kingdom are pursuing expanded bilateral cooperation across the agricultural and sports sectors.
A delegation of Ghanaian Municipal and District Chief Executives met with the Ghana High Commission in London to explore agricultural investment opportunities. The group aims to establish partnerships in the UK, including potential knowledge exchanges with farmers in Northern Ireland. High Commissioner Sabah Zita Benson emphasized the need for value addition to agricultural produce to boost employment and international competitiveness, while discussions also addressed grain production, modern equipment, and post-harvest processing.
Simultaneously, UK Trade Commissioner for Africa Alastair Long met with Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Iddie Adams, to discuss strengthening ties through sports. The talks focused on investment in sports infrastructure, technical training, and youth development.
