Ghana coach Carlos Queiroz submits squad for AFCON qualifiers
Ghana national football team head coach Carlos Queiroz has submitted his squad for the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. The squad list is currently undergoing approval processes through the Ghana Football Association’s Management Committee and Executive Council, with an official announcement expected next week.
Ghana is scheduled to begin its qualifying campaign with an away match against Côte d’Ivoire in Bouaké on September 24, 2026, followed by a home fixture against The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 29.
Queiroz remains at the helm following his leadership during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he guided the Black Stars to the round of 32. His tenure has been noted for establishing defensive structure and improving results after a period of crisis in which the team had failed to qualify for AFCON for the first time in 22 years.
