Ghana corruption trial: Prosecution rests in Adu-Boahene case

The prosecution has formally rested its case in the high-profile corruption trial of Kwabena Adu-Boahene and others at the Accra High Court. The proceedings have lasted over 18 months, making it one of the longest-running corruption cases in recent Ghanaian legal history.

Following the closure of the state's case, the defense is preparing its next move. Samuel Atta Akyea, the lawyer representing former National Signals Bureau Director-General Adu-Boahene, has denied social media reports claiming he had abandoned his clients. Atta Akyea dismissed these claims as “wretched and vile propaganda” and stated that his legal team is preparing a “very solid and credible submission of no case.”

The dispute follows allegations from the prosecution regarding the authenticity of a document used by the defense. Atta Akyea maintained that the document was admitted into evidence without objection. The defendants in the case include Kwabena Adu-Boahene, Angela Adjei Boateng, and Advantage Solutions Ltd.
