Ghana Court Grants GH₵200,000 Bail to NDC Organizer Over False TikTok Claims About Ex-Vice President Bawumia
Prince Aboagye, a 39‑year‑old lotto agent and branch organiser for the National Democratic Congress in Ghana's Agona West constituency, appeared in court after police charged him with offensive conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace and the publication of false news. The charges stem from a TikTok video in which Aboagye allegedly made false and offensive statements about former Vice‑President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. He pleaded not guilty, admitted recording and posting the video, but asserted that the allegations in the clip were false. The court granted him bail of GH₵200,000, requiring three sureties, one of which must justify ownership of landed property, and adjourned the case to 19 August 2026.
