Ghana Court Issues Bench Warrant for Marketer Kweku Asiedu Over Threats to EOCO Staff

An Accra Circuit Court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Kweku Osei Korankye Asiedu, known as KOKA, a marketer and New Patriotic Party communicator, after he failed to appear on charges of threatening death and publishing false news. The prosecution says Asiedu posted a video on May 29, 2026, stating, “We know the officers’ houses, we know where they stay, and we will kill you,” targeting staff of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

The court adjourned the case to 25 August 2026. Prosecutors allege that a later video claimed a presidential order to stop food deliveries to EOCO detainee Dennis Miracles Aboagye, which they say was fabricated to incite unrest. Following the videos, the driver of EOCO’s executive director was reportedly pursued by about 20 unidentified motorcyclists. Asiedu was later arrested and, during police questioning, allegedly admitted the offenses.
