Ghana falls to 70th in FIFA World Rankings

Ghana's national football team, the Black Stars, has dropped five places to 70th in the latest FIFA Men's World Rankings. This decline follows a difficult start to their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign, where the team suffered consecutive defeats against Côte d'Ivoire and The Gambia.

The loss of 25.73 ranking points has placed Ghana 14th among African nations. The poor performance also led to the departure of head coach Carlos Queiroz, who left by mutual agreement after securing only one victory in seven matches.

Ghana will look to recover points during their upcoming qualifying matches against Somalia in November.
